For this, we first had to choose a picture to have as a reference picture and then we had to attempt to draw something close. For the elements of design that were the most important I think were the value and the texture. Those were important because the details should be visible from a ways away (value) and the lines should be very visible and look realistic (texture).

For the principles of design, I think that emphasis, unity, and contrast were the most important. Emphasis because, the drawing is supposed to direct you gaze towards a few areas instead of the whole picture. Unity because it's important the drawing is totally done. Finally, contrast is important because it helps with the emphasis by having a darker value next to lighter values to focus the attention on a certain area.
